At The Palms Pharmacy we’re proud to join the nationwide effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s a powerful reminder that our emotional and psychological well-being is just as important as our physical health.

Why Mental Health Deserves the Spotlight

1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences mental illness each year. Yet, too many individuals struggle in silence due to fear, shame, or lack of access to care. Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act. It impacts our relationships, work performance, and overall quality of life.

By acknowledging the importance of mental wellness, we can begin to shift the culture from judgment to compassion and support.

Small Steps, Big Impact

You don’t need to be a mental health professional to make a difference. Here are a few meaningful ways to support your mental health and those around you:

  • Check in on loved ones. A simple "How are you really doing?" can open the door to needed conversations.
  • Practice self-care. Whether it’s taking a walk, journaling, unplugging from social media, or speaking to a counselor. Prioritize activities that calm your mind.
  • Know the signs. Changes in sleep, mood, or appetite, withdrawal, or persistent sadness could signal someone needs help.
  • Normalize therapy. Seeking help isn’t a weakness, it’s a strength.

We’re Here for You

At The Palms Pharmacy, your health—mind and body—matters. If you're feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn, we’re here to support you. We offer resources, referrals, and telehealth consultations to help guide you in the right direction. Let’s break the silence together.

This May, let’s all take a moment to check in with ourselves and with each other. Because mental health is health.
