While you may have heard of compounded medications and know some things about them, are you aware of all the many benefits that compounded medications can provide? There are plenty of ways that compounded medications can be helpful, from custom drugs for those with allergies to modified dosages and lots more. Here are some of the top ways that compounded medications can be helpful:

1. Avoid Allergens

Sometimes, a medication that you need may contain an ingredient that you are allergic to. Fortunately, one of the ways that compounded medications can be helpful is that we can prepare them without the ingredients you are allergic to. Whether you need a certain type of medication prepared without a certain dye or another allergen, you will not need to worry about not being able to take the medication you need when you rely on our compounded medications.

2. Modified Dosages

It can be a hassle when your medications are not available in the dosage you require, leading to frustrating time spent cutting pills or approximating the amount of medication you are taking. This is not a concern with compounded medications, as we can prepare your medication in the exact dosage that is best for you. And if your needs change, we can always adjust to ensure that your medications continue to meet your needs!

3. Various Dosage Forms

Another of the ways that compounded medications can be helpful is that we can prepare them in various dosage forms, which can make taking medication easier. This can be especially helpful when giving medication to children or pets, as the form of the medication and the flavoring used can make a significant impact. When you rely on our pharmacy for compounded medications, you can always receive the dosage form that is best for your needs.

4. Combined Medications

Some medications can actually be combined into one, which can make management of pills much easier. This is another of the benefits of compounded medication, as we can take certain medications and combine them into a single pill or other dosage form. Don’t worry about bringing lots of pills with you or forgetting what you have taken when we combine certain medications here at our pharmacy.

5. Medications Won’t Be Discontinued

One of the most unfortunate things that can happen when you have found a medication that is working for you is to find out that it has been discontinued by its manufacturer. That is not a concern with compounded medications, as we can always continue to create the drugs you need here at our pharmacy. You can rest assured that your medications will always be available when you rely on The Palms Pharmacy!

As you can see, there are lots of different ways that compounded medications can be helpful. Whether you need a certain type of medication prepared with or without certain ingredients, in a specific dosage form, or any other individual needs, compounded medications can be an excellent solution.
